Membership is obtainable by Bin Tycoon Membership Gift Cards in stores and buying membership packages from the membership page. A Bin Tycoon Member has a Top Hat icon on their profile cards to show their status. A new Bin Tycoon is rewarded with Dosh coins, a black top hat, and a wide range of features. A series of promotional Bin Tycoon Bonanza weekends became a common practice to promote the benefits of being a member. New Bin Tycoons would earn an exclusive prize pack containing virtual goods and bonuses such as rare nest items, garden items, hats, Mulch, Dosh and XP.

Tycoon TV was purchased as an additional recurring payment package on top of Bin Tycoon. Tycoon TV included Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network TV shows that were available to watch at the Tycoon TV Towers on Tycoon Island or in a home cinema for an additional £2 per month. You could subscribe to the Tycoon TV package on the membership page.

Other features[]

During the 2010 relaunch, Tycoon Island was released after much anticipation as a members-only exclusive location. Tycoon Island featured three main rooms and a landing area; the Slime Pool, Smoothie Shack, Tycoon Plaza and Tycoon TV Towers. A Cash Machine was located on the landing area for Bin Tycoons to cash out their business earnings. The Tycoon Plaza featured a range of members-only shops. It was a locked shopping experience for Bin Tycoons. These rotated and differed slightly throughout the years but the longest running shops were Hem's Hats, Nightclub Shop, Photo Shop, Cinema Shop and Clott's Garden Plots. During March 2013, the Tycoon Plaza was removed and the members-only shops relocated around the game.

In 2012, when Bin Tycoons received the Dosh currency, it was announced that 'The Bin Bank of Dosh' would be built on Tycoon Island, ran by the character Jott. Construction decorations were put in place. Bin Weevils had serious plans to allow Bin Tycoons the availability to exchange Mulch for Dosh. In 2013, the construction decorations were removed, and all signs that there was a new development at Tycoon Island ceased. Tycoon Island was later removed from the game in September 2013 and therefore was discontinued.

Discontinued Bin Tycoon perks include Tycoon TV, Bin Weevil Changer and dozens of items. Bin Tycoon features such as Bin Pets and nest expansions were made available for everyone over a period of time through Dosh. Tycoon TV was purchased as an additional recurring payment package on top of a Bin Tycoon Membership. Tycoon TV included Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network TV shows that were available to watch at the Tycoon TV Towers or in a home cinema for an additional £2 per month. You could subscribe to Tycoon TV on the membership page until it was discontinued in 2014. From 2007-2010, there was a leaderboard showcasing the top Bin Tycoon earners at Dosh's Palace. During the Winter Wonderland event, Bin Tycoons have the option to catch up on the days they missed from their daily Advent Calendar. The calendar rewards 15 exclusive items (nest items and garden items), 100 Dosh, 300 XP, and 3000 Mulch throughout December.

Bin Tycoons have VIP access to Bin parties where they can unlock rare items, play minigames, complete puzzles, and earn XP and Mulch fast. Themed monthly Bin parties were always accompanied with promo codes, new items and feature releases for members. Past VIP parties include the Pirate Party, Rock 'N' Roll Party, Fiesta, Dance Fever, Winter Wonderland, Spring Festival, Celebrity Party, Mad Scientist Party, and Ram's Pop-Up Arcade. The Summer Fair features several member locked content, such as the Gunge Tent and x2 Tokens on all minigames.

In September 2013, the Super Antenna Quest arrived offshore on Mulch Island. This member locked quest allowed Bin Tycoons the opportunity to obtain and wear the orange and yellow Super Antenna; a rare antenna previously only worn by a few Bin Weevils celebrities and moderators from 2009. Players had to search island locations to find different coloured chests. The green chest unlocked the ultimate prize; a purple gem for nest rooms that activated the Super Antenna. Several Super Antennas have been collected by Bin Tycoons since. In 2014, the Super Antenna Quest returned on Mulch Island. The quest allowed Bin Tycoons the opportunity to obtain and wear the orange and yellow Super Legs; a rare leg accessory previously only worn by The Maker from 2009.

Trivia[]

  • Bin Tycoon was introduced as a premium membership for Bin Weevils in 2009 with the launch of magazines and the Editor's Office. The game was primarily funded through promotional campaigns, although Bin Tycoon was still considered an importance. Players who bought Bin Tycoon received a Bin Weevils style credit card with their weevil name on it, eventually this was discontinued. Until 2010, there was a universal leaderboard showcasing the top Bin Tycoon Mulch earners monthly at 3D Dosh's Palace.
  • Dosh was introduced in 2012 by the Dosh family as a premium currency. Prior to the introduction of the Dosh currency and monthly Dosh salary, players earned 20000 Mulch along with additional virtual goods gifts when they subscribed to Bin Tycoon. This was later abandoned when Dosh arrived, with new members earning Dosh coins upon becoming a member, along with their monthly Dosh salary wage that gradually increased, depending on how many months a player had premium membership. The Dosh salary can be collected at Cash Machines. The Dosh salary later became a daily feature from 2017, with Bin Tycoons earning 5 Dosh coins per day.
  • Deluxe item stock, bundles, hats, Bin Bots and, formally Bin Pets and nest room expansions can be obtained with Dosh coins.
  • Players had the opportunity to buy Mulch from the subscription page up to 2013 along with Dosh, with the highest price being £14.99 for 75,000 Mulch. It was available in the early stages of the game to become a paid member for 1 month by means of an SMS message, but was discontinued in 2013.
  • Bin Tycoons have a unique top hat icon on their profile cards. This displays their party room, photo studio and magazine businesses and shows their status. The top hat icon was revamped in 2013. A Bin Badge for becoming a Bin Tycoon was added to the game in 2013. Bin Tycoons have access to more Bin Badges as they have more content.
  • A series of promotional Bin Tycoon Bonanza weekends became a common practice to promote the benefits of being a member. New Bin Tycoons would earn an exclusive prize pack containing virtual goods and bonuses, such as rare nest items, garden items, hats, Mulch, Dosh and XP. This could also include weekend-only sales in-game on nest, garden, and business item stock. There were also special promotional gifts for existing members.
  • Bin Tycoon Membership Gift Cards launched in British supermarkets and stores in 2010. They have several designs, including a limited edition 3 Month Membership Gift Card and a US 1 Month and 6 Month Membership Git Card that came with exclusive virtual goods (Purple Snail and a Rockin' Drum Set). Bin Tycoon Membership Gift Cards could be found in WHS Smith, Tesco, Game, Wilko and other stores.
